Something shifted yesterday in Portapique
The water barrel finally thawed enough to move water over to the coop. After hauling water from the house all winter that feels like a big win this time of year.
The chickens seem convinced it’s spring already — they’re laying like crazy. I even had to push a broody hen off the nest so I could collect the eggs. Determined little thing.
Around the yard the snow is slowly giving up its hold. The garden beds are starting to peek through again, the mulch circles are showing up around the trees, and you can almost see where this year’s growing season will begin.
We’re not there yet… but the signs are starting.
Spring always arrives quietly at first.
