FAQ

Ordering & Shipping
Does adding an item to my cart reserve it?
No. Items are not reserved until your payment is successfully processed. If a variety is in high demand, it is possible for it to sell out while it is still in your cart. We recommend creating an account beforehand and completing your checkout quickly for limited release varieties.

When will my tubers ship?
We ship our tubers in the spring once the risk of freezing temperatures in transit has passed. This is typically late-April to early May depending on the weather. We want to ensure your tubers arrive healthy and ready to plant, not frozen!

Can I combine multiple orders?
Yes! We know the excitement of sale day. If you place multiple orders to secure your favorites, please email us with your order numbers. We will combine them into one box and refund the excess shipping cost.

Do you offer local pickup?
Yes! If you are local to the community of Portapique, Nova Scotia, you can select "Local Pickup" at checkout. We will email you in the spring with location details and pickup dates.

Tuber Quality & Guarantees
What should I expect my tuber to look like?
Dahlia tubers come in all shapes and sizes! Some are long and skinny, while others are small and round. The size of the tuber does not determine the size of the plant or bloom. Every tuber we sell is guaranteed to have at least one viable "eye" (sprout) and a healthy, firm body.

What if I receive a damaged tuber?
We triple-check every tuber before it leaves our hands. However, shipping can be rough. Please inspect your order immediately upon arrival. If you find a serious issue (such as rot or a broken neck), please email us a clear photo at questions@northshoreflowerco.ca within 5 days of delivery so we can make it right.

Do you guarantee your tubers?
We guarantee that our tubers will arrive true to variety and with a visible eye. We cannot be held responsible for tuber failure due to growing conditions, weather, pests, or improper storage after arrival. However, we want you to succeed—if you are having trouble, please check our Growing Guide.
